A charge of Minor In Possession of Alcohol is one of the "routine" misdemeanor charges that occur in Municipal Court.  A person charged with "MIP" may be eligible for a dismissal of the charge upon attendance of an "Alcohol Class" conducted by the University of Alabama at the Tuscaloosa Municipal Court and payment of court costs in the amount of $170.

The Court will make a determination of whether you are eligible for a dismissal of the charge.  You MUST appear in Court and speak with the Judge in order to request the class and a dismissal upon successful completion of that class.

While you have the right to be represented by an Attorney during your Court hearing, many persons appear "unrepresented" in Court for "MIP".

I also handle other alcohol related cases:

Public intoxication

Open container

Fake ID/improper ID

DUI

Open House Party

Out of State Assistance

In addition to helping clients located in Alabama, I am also able to represent students whose parents live out-of-state. I communicate with these parents through email and telephone when it is necessary to involve them in the many details of the case.
